Never wait for the perfect time

By Jean Baptiste Ndabananiye

Most people defer their greatest dreams for one simple reason: they are awaiting the fittest time. They tell themselves that they will  start when they possess more money, more knowledge, greater confidence, or more favorable circumstances.

Nevertheless history, experience, and timeless wisdom repeatedly demonstrate a different conclusion—the ideal moment forms an illusion that exists only in our imagination. The people who transform their lives are rarely those who wait for perfect conditions; they are those who choose to begin despite uncertainty, trusting that action itself produces the opportunities which they seek.

Success begins when excuses end—stop waiting, start acting

The perfect time will rarely come. Waiting for ideal circumstances often leads to unconscious procrastination, as conditions will rarely (if ever) be 100% perfect. As noted in philosophical and practical texts—much like the agricultural wisdom of waiting for the perfect weather—taking action despite uncertainty is what creates progress,” according to Vivekananda Sinha on his LinkedIn account/profile, on 15 July 2026.

As we read it on this social medium, Sinha describes himself an entrepreneur and chief executive officer [CEO] (1) mentoring individuals move from stagnant career and (2) helping founders and CEOs to Grow Fast on LinkedIn. This “best selling author, keynote speaker, [and among] top 20 entrepreneurs in India” adds “𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬. Many people have big dreams. But dreams don’t change your life. Your actions do. You may not have the perfect time, the perfect plan, or the perfect resources. That’s okay.

Start with what you have. Every successful person faced challenges, failures, and self-doubt. The difference is they chose to move forward instead of waiting for the perfect moment. If you want a better career, a better job, or a better future, stop waiting and start taking action today. Here are 5 simple reminders: stop waiting for the ‘right time.’ Today is the best day to start. Take one small step every day. Small progress leads to big success. Learn from your mistakes instead of making excuses.”

The remaining reminders are “Stay consistent, even when results are slow. Believe in yourself and keep moving forward.”

Sinha shows that his words are based on experience. He underscores “Your future is built by the choices you make today. Success begins the day you stop making excuses. I’ve had the privilege of mentoring countless individuals toward realizing their dreams. By upgrading the right skills with proven roadmap and mentorship, you can unlock doors you never knew existed.

History, Scripture, and experience recount the same story

A photo that Sinha shared on his LinkedIn account. This message constitutes another irrefutable testament that you have to chase your dream until you realize it. The only reason that ought to prevent you is death. As learning should be a lifetime endeavor, pursuing your noble goal ought to be a lifetime commitment too.

Sinha’s statement is corroborated by various sources. These sources also affirm that the perfect moment for you to carry out your dream will never come. Even the most successful personalities you know have not awaited the perfect time. Perfect time means ideal time the best possible moment or the most suitable time to engage in something. In fact, the ideal time is kept in the realm of dreams or desires- what you wish you possessed so that you could start pursuing your noble goal.

The Holy Bible’s book, Ecclesiastes 11:4-6, says “If a person waits for perfect weather, he will never plant his seeds. And if he is afraid that every cloud will bring rain, he will never harvest his crops. You don’t know where the wind will blow. And you don’t know how a baby grows in its mother’s body.

In the same way, God certainly made all things. But you can’t understand what he is doing. Begin planting early in the morning, and don’t stop working until evening. This is because you don’t know which things you do will succeed. It is even possible that everything you do will succeed.”

Daymond John, with 1 million followers, CEO of FUBU and The Shark Group, Co-Star on ABC’s Shark Tank, and U.S. Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship, points out “There is no perfect time.  Only the perfect use on time. You will have many seasons in your life where nothing will go the way you planned it.

What you will need to keep you going won’t be motivation, it will be the commitment you make to yourself. I was talking with Rahul Moodgal, Partner at Parvus Asset Management, about this recently, and we both agreed that the biggest shift happens when you stop waiting for the perfect time.”

Sergio García’s extraordinary seventeen-year journey before becoming a Masters Champion in 2017 provides yet another compelling case proving that the ideal time rarely exists before one begins chasing a noble goal. For nearly two decades, García waited, endured seventy-three unsuccessful major championship attempts, and continuously improved until the opportunity he had long desired finally arrived.

His story demonstrates that waiting for the “perfect moment” often stands as an illusion because success belongs to those who act with patience, persistence, and unwavering commitment despite uncertainty and delays. Like several remarkable figures in history, García did not accomplish his dream because circumstances became ideal; rather, he created his ideal moment through nonstop effort, resilience, and faith in his purpose.

Therefore, his victory acts as another powerful reminder that the ideal time is not something we discover before embarking on the journey—it is something we help to create by courageously walking the path. So, from now on, develop and maintain the courage to begin now even if the conditions appear not to allow it, because the perfect time will never arrive. Action actually creates opportunities. Dreams demand action, not postponement. Since progress starts long before conditions become perfect, success belongs to those who dare to begin.
